What are dental crowns?

Crowns can be used to cover and protect damaged or weak teeth. A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps a tooth or dental implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement. The tooth will be reshaped, to ensure that once the crown is fitted, it remains the same size and shape as the natural teeth. It may also need to be built up with a filling first.

Caring for your crown

The crown can last for many years if good oral hygiene is maintained, depending on the condition of the original tooth. Additional care should be taken to keep the crown and surrounding area clean. Your dentist or dental hygienist will recommend an appropriate home care regime.

Are crowns noticeable?

Your dentist will match the crown as closely as possible to the other teeth, in size, shape and colour.

What is a Dental Bridge?

Bridges replace one or more missing teeth, by fixing the replacement teeth to the surface of the natural teeth each side of the gap – to bridge the gap.

They can be made from metal, porcelain or a combination of both. The colour can be matched to the rest of your teeth to ensure they blend in and look natural

How to care for your Dental Bridge

Following the fitting, additional and regular oral hygiene care is required. If it is kept clean and providing there is no accidental damage, a bridge can last for many years.

Having had treatment for implants for nearly two years, I wish to express my admiration for the kindness and utter professionalism from Dr Sarabi & the team. I am so thrilled with the result and would highly recommend this treatment to anyone interested.

Mrs Joan Lowery Gloucestershire

For over 40 years of my life I have worn dentures replacing all my teeth on my upper and lower jaw. I had always hated my smile and it really did affect my self confidence.

Mrs Ellen O’Neill Oxfordshire

I have just completed a course of treatment, replacing my whole upper jaw with a snius elevation, dental implants and a fixed bridge on top. After my first consulation, I felt 100% clear on what the process would be and what time frame I was looking at. Overtime I got to know my dentist well, and was impressed with his clinical and sugical skills.
