Helping to refresh your looks and glow with confidence

At Lechlade Dental Practice we also offer a range of facial aesthetic treatments. You may be wondering why a dentist would be working in non-surgical facial aesthetics. The truth is that dentists are actually ideally placed to perform such treatments, since they have undergone 5 years of undergraduate educations focusing on the just the face, never mind the postgraduate training that follows! A large part of what dentist’s learn involves not just teeth but also the anatomical structures allied to the mouth, as well as providing oral treatment that is in proportion with the patients face, and they are experts at administering pain-free injections. Dentists, just like any other healthcare professional that patients see on a regular basis, are in the fortunate position of being able to build rapport and therefore trust. Who better then, for our patients seeking non-surgical facial aesthetic treatment, to deliver it when that all-important trust is already there?
Natural Facial Rejuvenation

NATURAL FACIAL REJUVENATION - PRGF ENDORET

PRGF Endoret used in facial aesthetics

We are pleased to announce a revolutionary new facial aesthetics procedure using the remarkable technology, PRGF Endoret.

Already used to great effect in the dental implant side of our practice, PRGF Endoret is 'Plasma Rich In Growth Hormone' which can be used to help reverse the signs of aging.

How does it work?

From your own blood, we are able to safely isolate the plasma-containing proteins which speed up tissue regeneration and help the body's natural repair mechanisms. A small amount of your own blood is centrifuged to allow us to collect the constituents that we then use to help stimulate the anti-aging process.

Small amounts of the centrifuged plasma are then applied to the facial areas which are in need of regeneration. In almost all cases, the treatment produces a noticeable improvement together with quicker recovery times.

Is the treatment safe?

Yes - PRGF Endoret is the only technology that holds the European CE and American FDA approvals for a variety of medical uses such as facial rejuvenation. It has been widely acclaimed in a number of international articles.

The benefits

Hyaluronic Acid Production - PRGF Endoret stimulates the production of natural hyaluronic acid, pro-collagen, and elastin improving firmness and reducing sagging.

Skin Hydration and Luminosity - PRGF Endoret increases facial hydration and overall luminosity.

Wrinkle Reduction - the ability to inject deeper results in an enhanced filler effect to help reduce facial wrinkles.

Compatibility - PRGF Endoret is compatible with other anti-aging treatments and has no known contra-indications or allergies.

How long before I see the effects?

The plasma is applied in a number of micro-injections and the effects usually become noticeable after 24 hours and then increasingly so after further sessions. Three sessions are recommended in the first three months with further maintenance sessions depending on individual skin type and age.

Dermal Fillers

DERMAL FILLERS

The underlying tissue of our skin that plumps up and helps us to look youthful starts to break down as we age. This often leaves us with unwanted laughter lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, and deep creases over the area where movement occurs. But thanks to dermal fillers we now have a way of correcting these unwanted lines on our face.

Your dermal filler treatment will begin with an injectable consultation to determine the areas that you feel would benefit from the added volume. Once the areas have been decided on, the brand or strength of the dermal filler to be used will be assessed according to your needs and your desired outcome.

During the procedure, a topical anesthetic (numbing cream) will be applied to the area that will be injected to minimize any discomfort of the injections. Once this has started to take effect the practitioner will cleanse the area and begin the treatment. This procedure will be performed using a very fine needle underneath the skin and followed with a very slow injection of a colorless smooth gel which immediately lifts static lines. Sometimes a little massage is required but this depends on the depth of the product we are using. The dermal filler treatment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of areas to be treated.

How long will the effects last?

The results from this treatment will be seen immediately. The length of time these results will last differs between each individual, the type of dermal filler used, and the area that is treated. If you have the dermal filler injected into somewhere with a lot of movement such as your lips, this will also result in the product being broken down quicker. However, on average the dermal fillers can last anywhere between 3 and 18 months.

Anti Wrinkle Treatments

ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS
(Botox Injections)

Your injectable consultation with your practitioner will help you decide whether Botox is a suitable treatment for you and if so, which areas of your face could be treated based on the results you want to achieve. If you decide that you would like to go ahead with this treatment your practitioner will use a small, thin needle to inject the Botox in the most accurate and pain-free way. It is normal to feel a mild discomfort upon injection; most patients describe a slight stinging or burning feeling that quickly subsides after injection. If you are having your upper face treated you are likely to have around 16 injections in total.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment with Botox injections takes around 20 minutes to complete.

How long will the results last?

In general, it takes 7-10 days to start seeing the effects of the Botox injections. These results generally last up to 3 months; however this differs between each individual. If you have repeat treatments of Botox, the results from each subsequent treatment will last slightly longer as your muscles become used to remaining in a ‘relaxed’ state.

If you stop having Botox injections your wrinkles will gradually go back to how they were prior to your initial treatment. They will not appear in a worse condition than when you began the treatments.

Hair Regrowth Treatment

HAIR REGROWTH TREATMENT

If your hair is thinning and you would like to slow or even stop your hair loss then Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP may offer an amazingly effective answer.

The PRP serum is delivered into the scalp, stimulating follicles and improving the number of hairs per follicle, resulting in thicker, healthier hair.

From your own blood, we are able to safely isolate the plasma containing proteins which speed up tissue regeneration and help the body's natural repair mechanisms. A small amount of your own blood is centrifuged to allow us to collect the constituents that we then use to help stimulate the anti-ageing process.

Small amounts of the centrifuged plasma are then applied to the areas which are in need of regeneration. In almost all cases, the treatment produces a noticeable improvement together with quicker recovery times.

Because PRP works on active follicles, it’s a preventative treatment intended to slow hair loss and thinness, so it’s best embarked upon when you first start to notice a problem. Please be aware that it is not a treatment for baldness.

HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT

Hyperhidrosis is a common condition in which a person sweats excessively.

Botulinum toxin can be injected into the skin in areas of the body affected by hyperhidrosis. This helps reduce sweating in these areas by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands.

Botox for Teeth Grinding

BOTOX FOR TEETH GRINDING

Around 30% of us clench our teeth whilst we sleep. This is known as Bruxism. This can unknowingly be the cause of headaches and tension in the neck and shoulders. Common signs of Bruxism are worn down or chipped teeth. The pressure on the teeth during grinding can be 20 times greater than the force used in normal chewing and biting.

Botox temporarily relaxes the main muscles involved with bruxism. They become overactive, causing the jaw to clench unconsciously. We inject enough Botox into these muscles so they relax

The effects last for about four months. Botox is approved for treating the painful symptoms caused by muscle spasticity in 20 different neurological conditions including bruxism.

Botox for Tension Headaches

BOTOX FOR TENSION HEADACHES

A tension-type headache is the most common type of headache and the one we think of as a normal, everyday headache.
